Accuracy

Each figure comes from a government or regulator source. We store it with that source and the date we checked it. We test calculations against official formulas before we publish. Each tool page shows the tax year its data covers and the date it was last updated.

Independence

Content is not sponsored. Some pages may carry a link to a bank or investment account marked Partner link, and GlassLayer may earn a commission if you open an account through it. Partner links are always labelled next to the link. They never change a calculation, an explanation or which product a page recommends, and they never appear inside a calculator. We only link to accounts and never pass on anything you enter.

Scope and advice

The tools and guides are general information for people in Canada. They are not tax, legal, investment or mortgage advice. They cannot cover your full situation. Check important decisions with a qualified professional.

Corrections

Report errors through the contact page. We fix confirmed errors quickly and log them in the changelog with the date and what changed. A major fix to a calculation is also noted on the tool page.

Updates

We update annual figures when the CRA and the provinces publish them, usually in November and December for the next January. Mid-year law changes are applied once they pass. Key facts, sources and worked examples are rebuilt from the data files each time.
